They have had some shockers in the past, but the 2020 Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses outside the USA ranking from Golf Digest Magazine might be the strangest yet.
Aside from some crazy high modern course rankings, is the strong performance of courses that were previously prominent on GOLF Magazine's World 100 list, prior to the change of leadership and the panel clean out. Among such notable rises are Club at Nine Bridges (18), Diamante Dunes (34) and Ayodhya Links in Thailand, which has not featured on the Golf Digest list previously. Ayodhya will be pleased to be included at 90, after bouncing out of GOLF's Top 100 altogether this year.
Though fond of Tara Iti (2), South Cape (8) and Shanqin Bay (14) each is far too generously ranked on this list, as are Anyang Benest (50), Jack Nicklaus GCK (54), Haesley Nine Bridges (67), Siam Old (83) and Ba Na Hills (89) who should all feel fortunate to have been included anywhere in such company. Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea ahead of Woodhall Spa, Jasper Park, Royal Aberdeen, Prestwick, Victoria and Royal Adelaide probably tells you everything you need to know about this list.
