It was a cause of great delight to discover recently that the iconic JONES golf bags from the 1970s & 80s were back in production, having been reborn following the 2011 acquisition of the Jones Sports Company by a local Oregon golfing family. The purchase was completed with the aim of bringing the traditional, minimalistic carry bags that JONES was famous for back to life. Pleasingly, the functional, vintage designs have married beautifully with modern technology and the new carry and stand bags now available from JONES are perfect for those who prefer to walk when they play. www.jonesgolfbags.com

Jones Sports Co.

In the Winter of 2011, the Lemman family acquired the legacy of the Jones Sports Company with high aspirations to recreate icons of the past and impress the golf world with innovations in the same fashion that the brand has previously done. Jonesis dedicated to continuously improving the game of golf by exploring and developing upon the limitless potential the iconic company possesses.

The Legacy

In 1971 a part-time golfer and cab driver from Portland Oregon glued, taped and cobbled together the first of what would become a line of golf bags that would revolutionize the category. The plan was simple: Create an iconic, functional bag that could easily be customized. The result was a bag that served as the face of amateur, high school and collegiate golf for generations. The technical and design revolution the modern golf bag underwent in the early 1990s left the classic Original Jones Bag to fend for itself as a single-strap, no-stand bag that seemed to be slowly forgotten among the new styles and features of the modern golf bag.

Old School Returns

Most golfers that purchase our bags already have had a Jones slung over their shoulder for countless rounds sometime in the past. Some had to earn a spot on their varsity team to find themselves carrying a Jones, while others just remember the long hours they put in at the local muni banging balls as their Jones lay down beside them incase they wanted to let out some frustration on the bottom mold. Either way, Jones bleeds nostalgia, and those who carried a Jones in their heyday, can't wait to rekindle an old flame that once existed. More importantly, we look forward to introducing younger generations to a simple bag design derived from simplicity. Old school is new school.

Our Icon

This is arguably the most successful and iconic carry bag in the history of the game. Everything you loved about the original has been remade using the toughest modern-day materials.
