In Volume 3 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses, Tom Doak published that:
“I’ve only seen the West course as it used to be set up for the PGA Tour’s Westchester Classic, when the two nines were reversed. It’s the hilliest course in the area, but the contours are well employed in the routing, so that abrupt features come into play without it being a difficult walk. The clubhouse is enormous, a hotel-sized building that makes Riviera’s look like a mud hut.”
The West Course at Westchester Country Club received a score of 5 out of 10 from Tom Doak, and a score of 5 out of 10 from one of his co-authors.
