In Volume 3 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses, Tom Doak published that.
“The only course in America named after its patrons, Old White was a very watered-down Macdonald design until Lester George’s renovation in 2008. The course is quite short for its role as host to a Tour event, and I fear that they may have gone overboard trying to toughen it to make up for its lack of length. I do hope they cleared some trees – even the rugged drama of the Greenbrier valley had been muted by nursery trees in the center of the course which blocked the views of the ridges looming above.“
The Old White TPC Course at The Greenbrier Resort received a score of 6 out of 10 from Tom Doak and two scores of 6 out of 10 from of his co-authors.
