In Volume 3 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses, Tom Doak published that:
“The world’s first and only floating island green was a solution to a problem – there was barely 100 acres to build a course here, so they had to build one hole out in the lake in order to get up to eighteen! The rest of the course is crammed tightly together, and the decision to mow grass short across the site means it is easy to bounce over into the wrong fairway if you are hitting your tee shots crooked.”
The Coeur D’Alene Resort Golf Course received a score of 5 out of 10 from Tom Doak and a score of 4 out of 10 from one of his co-authors.
