Totally renovated in 2007, Palmetto is an old MacKenzie track on nice Pine covered site that drops dramatically off a ridge at the 1st, meanders away from the clubhouse across softly rolling slopes and then rises back up the ridge for a closing quartet starting with the cool short par four 15th. Some areas are quite steep, but mostly this is really solid golf land and dotted with really strong golf holes. The mid-length 2nd, 6th and 12th are also really good holes. As are the finishing holes, the cross-gully approach into the 17th and the short heavily bunkered 18th are both terrific.
