In Volume 3 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses, Tom Doak published that.
“This 27-hole complex is one of Robert Trent Jones’s last designs, a nice woodsy escape from the hustle and bustle of the NY-Philadelphia corridor. The main 18 holes are plenty strong – in fact, stronger than they look, the opposite approach of Dr. MacKenzie’s ideal that players enjoy a hole which looks impossible, but is not really so severe. It’s never busy, so you can fly around all 27 holes in not much more than four hours, and still have time left over to go look at Hollywood, or down the parkway to Atlantic City.”
The Metedeconk National Golf Club received a score of 5 out of 10 from Tom Doak.
