“This well-known mountain resort has a beautiful layout in a tranquil mountain valley just outside of Linville. The par-4 3^rd hole which crosses a winding brook twice is justly famous, but I had no idea that the same hazard could be brought into play on so many other holes – twelve in all I think. Sadly I still have never gotten back to play here; I happened to visit at the very peak of fall color season, which at Linville is about three weeks after the club closes up shop for the year (!), so it is a summer resort in every sense of the term.“

The Linville Golf Club received a score of 6 out of 10 from Tom Doak and two scores of 5 out of 10 from of his co-authors.
