In Volume 2 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses, Tom Doak published that.
“Steve Smyers’ overhaul of Isleworth has received a fair amount of attention lately as host to the televised Tavistock Cup. Thankfully, the design beams a better message than most Florida courses: the fairways have movement enthused into them, water isn’t the dominant challenge, and the bunker schemes demand thought on the tee. Smyers’ greens are often pushed up from their surrounds and make for exacting targets, such as at the brutally difficult 260-yard 2nd and the appealing, reachable 13th. Recovery to the elevated putting surfaces from the tight turf isn’t straightforward, either, as witnessed by Tiger’s mishaps around the 13th green in 2014.”
The Isleworth Golf Club received a score of 6 out of 10 and a score of 5 out of 10 from two of Tom Doak’s co-authors.
