Cog Hill is a popular public access facility and famed tournament venue in the outer suburbs of Chicago, its celebrated No. 4 course occupying a nicely rolling site and featuring some trademark design from both Robert Trent Jones senior and his son Rees Jones. The course is by no means a giant of global golf, but it features a number of decent holes and enough variety, sand depth, length and green contouring to test the world’s best professionals. Not a bad course, it probably works better as a tournament venue than a public access facility but regardless Cog Hill is certainly worth a look.
