Continuing the trend of popular golf resorts adding par three courses, the Destination Kohler company have created a 10-hole short course at its Blackwolf Run facility to be known as The Baths of Blackwolf Run.
The course was designed primarily by Chris Lutzke, a long-time associate of Pete Dye - the man responsible for Kohler’s four iconic full courses in Wisconsin. Lutzke was heavily involved in the creation of the two courses at Whistling Straits and on The Baths course he collaborated on design with Kohler Company Executive Chairperson Herb Kohler.
The Baths of Blackwolf Run covers approximately 27 acres and has ten holes in total, ranging from 60 to 160 yards. There are four lakes, or “baths”, on the course and its name is in tribute to the 120 plus year history of bathroom products created by the Kohler company.
The Baths also includes a two-acre Himalaya-style putting green, firepit, outdoor seating area and food and beverage station. It is sure to be popular with resort guests visiting Destination Kohler to play the full-length and challenging Whistling Straits or Blackwolf Run courses.
Said Kohler of The Baths when it opened in 2021:
“We look for ways to enhance the golf experience and grow the game for all golfers. The Baths complements our four world-renowned championship golf courses while also honoring Kohler Co.’s 130-year history of bathing design. We are delighted to officially open this exciting and unique course.”
