In Volume 2 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses, Tom Doak published that.
“Bay Hill is a favorite of the Tour pros, and not just because they all genuflect to Mr. Palmer: in contrast to the TPC, it shows off what makes the pros different from the rest of us, with green after green that demands a high approach shot over trouble. I always thought it was a membership course, and didn’t understand why the members would want to punish themselves on such a hard course, but the adjacent lodge is a lovely addition that drives a lot of play here now.”
The Bay Hill Club received a score of 6 out of 10 from Tom Doak and a score of 5 out of 10 from one of his co-authors.
