Welcome to Back Creek Golf Club! We're proud to be the #1 Golf Course in Delaware and home of renowned dining and event locations. Designed by first-time golf architect Allen C. Liddicoat, Back Creek has been named one of the Top 100 Modern Courses by GolfWeek. But a great golf experience is more than just a great design - it's also about exceptional food, unique programs, and lots of character.
Located at the base of the bridge on Route 896 in Middletown, Delaware, Back Creek Golf Club offers an 18-hole golf facility providing the area’s best “links-style” rounds with unmatched attention to detail, while doing it at some of the best rates around.
Back Creek was named one of Golfweek's “Best 100 Modern Courses in the U.S.” and one of Golf Travel Magazine's “Top 40 Public Courses in the U.S.” for two consecutive years.
The traditional layout of Back Creek -- with generous fairways and contoured greens -- gives enthusiastic golfers reason to come back again and again.
A nod to history. A lively present. An eye to the future.
The Back Creek property was once a farm owned by Delaware's first governor, Joshua Clayton. Although the course layout is within a subdivision, the homes on the course are far enough from the fairways that they don't interfere with play or with the visual aesthetics.
The course plays 7,113 yards from the black tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 74.4 and it has a slope rating of 134.
