It was in 1994 that Mr. Claude Thalmann decided to buy the Château de Vuissens and enhance it by creating a golf course. The manufacturer commissioned Mrs. Angèle Barras for this achievement and the project developed positively, despite some opposition within the village, until 1997, the year of the death of Mr. Thalmann.

Mrs. Barras continues her mandate, well supported by the Board of Directors of the Center Sportif du Château de Vuissens SA. Despite long and costly administrative procedures, the first 6 holes of the Vuissens course were opened in July 2001.  In August 2001, the course had 9 holes.

All 18 holes are finally available in April 2002. Since then, the reputation of the Vuissens golf course has continued to grow. Members and visitors are full of praise for the quality of the course and its welcome.
