Killarney occupies a narrow strip of land adjoining the M1, and is therefore essentially an out-and-back layout of two separate nines. A classic parkland design, with modern greens, several holes are guarded by water hazards or the stream running through the property.

Killarney began as the Transvaal Automobile Club, and the club offers other sports. It has hosted Sunshine Tour events, most recently the 1998 Vodacom Players Champs won by Mark McNulty.
