Golf Digest South Africa says -
Popular East Rand club with roots in the mining industry which has a delightful wooded parkland course, the oldest in the area. Being split in two by a busy road is a negative, yet golfers enjoy the variety and challenges of a design which has a couple of soft hills to contrast the terrain. It’s not long by Gauteng standards, even off the back, yet remains deceptively difficult on which to score well. Saying that, Albert Kruger set a world record amateur score of 30-under 258 here in winning the 2002 Eastern Gauteng Open.
