Scotland's Gullane Golf Club, located alongside the Muirfield links in East Lothian, is home to three distinct links courses, its finest track blessed with enjoyable views across the Firth of Forth toward Fife. The best known layout at Gullane is No. 1, which was first opened in 1884 and enjoys both the best golf and the best views on the property. Early holes climb high into a hill that overlooks both Muirfield and the sea, while down on the lower ground the bumpy links terrain is ideal for strong, demanding golf holes. No. 1 has hosted British Open Qualifying and a number of important regional tournaments.
Gullane No.2 has also hosted qualifying for the British Open, the course runs partly alongside the No. 1 course and occupies similar lumpy links terrain. The 3rd course, No. 3, is shorter and less interesting than the first two, but still with sufficient quality to make it worth playing for those in the area awhile and unable to sneak a game at Muirfield.
