A 5-star high end golf resort a short distance across the Northern Ireland border, Lough Erne features a signature "championship" course designed by associates of Sir Nick Faldo. The resort enjoys very pleasant lake views, and has several undulated areas that produced interesting golf. Those holes by the water, and through mature trees dominating the memory once you've finished the round.

Sadly, none of the golf here is particularly noteworthy and the short par fours and gambling fives are set up more to challenge the better golfer than the mid-to-high handicap player. For average hitters there are usually fewer options than for the elite player. That said, Lough Erne has an undeniable appeal and is likely popular with weekend getaway groups and couples.
