The Hamilton Golf Club was founded as a nine-hole course in 1903, moving a couple of times before its 1913 relocation to an 18-hole track named St Andrews.
Though it has some appeal and seems a fun club, the current St Andrews of Hamilton layout is fairly unremarkable with a few quirky moments but generally tight golf corridors and flattish fairways. The par three 18th, played uphill toward the clubhouse with a target cut into a shelf and deep traps along its left side, is rather good, but much of the other holes end with flattish greens guarded by shallow bunkers.
