Located near the southern tip of the Italian island of Sardinia the Is Molas golf course was designed by Cotton, Manicelli and Pennink and first opened for play in 1975. Conceived as a holiday track, and with the occasional view of the Sardinian Sea, this should be an exotic, fun place to golf but it's a very ordinary layout that struggles to hold the interest of players through the round. The dusty mountain backdrop on the inland side of the property is quite well used at times, but the golf design itself is poorly done, the holes lack sophistication, and the shaping is scratchy at best. The bunkers are mostly shallow and unappealing, the greens are flat and uninteresting and there is almost nothing to recommend about the layout at all.
