Understated and extremely private, the Shek O Country Club was founded by the British in Hong Kong during the early part of 20th century. The course plays to a par in the mid-60s and less than 5,000 yards total distance but resides beside the sea and is regarded as among the finest old-school golf experiences in Asia.
Although Shek O remains elusive to non-members, the course has established somewhat of a ‘cult’ status, thanks to its absolute sea frontage, the number of fun, quirky holes across both nines and the fact that shorter, sporty courses have become so rare in this part of the world.
We look forward to publishing a full course review soon.
