Built by Arnold Palmer's design company, the Palmer Course at Sporting Club Berlin is an utterly forgettable resort layout with very little to recommend.

The front nine here is terrible, and full of left bending holes built over flat dreary countryside. The back is closer to the impressive resort and slightly better, the holes at least cut through attractive terrain. The front though is awful, the ground lacks interest but the designers did nothing to assist, creating shallow bunkers that you can occasionally putt out of. The par three 7th is at times completely hidden behind tall reeds, while each of the longer holes move left and struggles to hold either visual or strategic interest. The 8th is a poor par five that slopes right toward a pond but features a big tree on the left to prevent golfers from playing safely and forcing most to lay back.

On the back nine the 10th and 13th are decent par fours with a bit of natural movement and solid green sites, while the 18th does feature a dramatic and effective tee shot. The 16th, however, is a shocker with its green cut into a hill and protected by some truly absurd bunkering.

Shame because the Sporting Club Berlin is a nice resort, but this is a poor course.
