“This was certainly among the best-conditioned courses I’ve seen in the UK, and the four holes across the A322 road are outstanding – especially the simple but brilliant par-5 11^th, a favorite of Tom Simpson’s. But to get to those holes you have to take your life in your hands by crossing a busy four-lane highway with a high speed limit. It’s the most dangerous crossing I’ve ever made in golf shoes.”

Worplesdon received a score of 6 out of 10 from Tom Doak and scores of 5 and 6 from two of his co-authors.
