St. Knud’s Golf Club in Nyborg.

The club was founded in 1954 and is, as such, one of the oldest golf courses in Denmark, with part of the beautiful and challenging course running along Nyborg Fjord. The club boasts a new club house built in 2009 with every modern facility.

The town of Nyborg is 800 years old, with quaint shopping streets and important medieval architecture, including Nyborg Castle, built in the 12th century as walled fortress and the oldest royal palace in Denmark. In fact, there are many castles and stately homes worth visiting in the Nyborg area.

Nyborg has good hotels close to the Great Belt with splendid swimming beaches. Situated at the geographical centre of Denmark, Nyborg is some 35 Km from Odense and Svendborg, and 90 minutes either by car or frequent train from Copenhagen. It is an ideal launching pad for holidays and, of course, many rounds of golf.

Visitors can use all the clubs facilities, including modern locker rooms, administration, the bar and restaurant and a well-stocked proshop.

The course is built on gently rolling terrain, a mixture of a woodland course in the forest holes and links holes near the fjord. The 16th hole was voted the most beautiful par 5 golf hole in Denmark.
Built on the original terrain, the course has well-manicured fairways which are just right to walk on. Despite being relatively short by modern standards (5729 metres for men and 4853 for ladies), the course is very challenging, especially when the wind blows, and has been used many times for Danish championships.
