“The Red is mostly a well-preserved example of Dick Wilson’s work, but the many fairway bunkers are becoming lost in the trees creeping into play at the margins. Sadly, in the 1980s Joe Lee added a bunch of “bumpers” at the back of greens at the members’ request that take the edge off the course. The par-4 5^th with its narrow front panhandle and the short 7^th with its abrupt fall-offs were my favorite holes.”
