In Volume 3 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses, Tom Doak published that.
“The total rebuild of an old course with mismatched nines, this is the first new design for both its architects, and it succeeds in presenting a style of its own. Nearly all the green sites are raised four or five feet above surrounding grade, with short grass down the banks all around – there is considerably more tilt than one sees on modern courses, and the sweeping breaks on chips and putts are fun to decipher. However the tee shots are less interesting: the fairway bunkers are so far downrange that the mid-handicapper never even tries to carry a hazard. My favorite holes were the par-4 11th and 12th holes which break out into a big clearing, the par-5 4th with its Redan green and 13th with a large bunker obscuring the green, and the strong par-4 finished with its green falling away and only a small ridge at the right front helping to collect a long approach.”
The Blue Course at Le Club Laval-Sur-Le-Lac received a score of 6 out of 10 from Tom Doak.
