From the club website:
The Glendale opened its doors in 1961 and since that time has become one of the premier golf facilities in Canada. Tradition, integrity and commitment rank high in our staff’s service pledge to our members and I think you will find this compliments the friendly atmosphere generated by our membership.
Since our inception the Glendale has continued to make improvements to the golf course with the goal of increasing the membership’s enjoyment of each and every round. The quality of the golf course has not gone unnoticed; indicative of the amount of national and international events we have hosted Players at these events such as Phil Jonas said “I think you’d see the Glendale in the top three or four golf courses in all of Canada”. Ray Stewart remarked that the Glendale is the best golf course he has played in the twenty years he has been on the Canadian Tour. After winning the Canadian Amateur Championships in 2000 Han Lee remarked that “I have never seen a golf course actually improve in condition during competition”. As well, our golf course has played host to many of the best players in the world. Both John Daly and Lee Trevino have played the Glendale and were very impressed. In fact, Mr. Trevino held the course record of 64 for seventeen years until it was broken at the 2002 Telus Edmonton Open by Aaron Barber and the event after by Edmonton native Mike Belbin who both carded a 63.
