One of Austria's best-known championship venues, the Murhof golf course is an almost dead-flat track surrounded by rolling hills of almost mountaineous proportions. Originally designed by Bernard von Limburger in 1963 and redesigned by Michael Pinner in 2000, the shaping and design here is quite rudimentary but the pleasant surrounds are a terrific distraction. The holes are generally quite soft and and the bunkering is rather bland, but a few of the greens have nice slopes and subtle putting shapes. One such green can be found at the 14th, the only obvious glamour hole here as it bends right around a lake with the hills providing the scenic backdrop.
