The Tallwoods Golf Resort is located in Hallidays Point, a 3-hour drive north of Sydney along the idyllic Mid North Coast of New South Wales. This is a popular beach destination for tourists and holiday makers, and although the course is a few minutes inland of the sea, there are scenic coastal views from some of the elevated areas.
The layout was routed and designed by Dr Michael Hurdzan from America, with holes mostly set within an attractive forest of tall eucalypts. There are a couple of lakes on the course, and a number of risk-reward holes that either flirt with water or the large sand bunkers placed to catch the errant drive.
Built as part of a greater residential subdivision, Tallwoods is an interesting and distinctly Australian golf course that doesn’t reach any great architectural heights, but does offer golfers a pleasant challenge.
