The 7 Mile Beach Public Golf Course is being developed by local professional golfer Mathew Goggin, a former PGA TOUR player, on beautiful sandy scrubland a short distance from Hobart airport.
The course has been designed and shaped by American Mike DeVries, with assistance from consultant Michael Clayton. It's understood that an official opening will take place in late 2025.
Many years in the making, Seven Mile Beach is a true passion project for Goggin who had been familiar with the heaving duneland on the Seven Mile Beach Peninsula since his days as a junior golfer at the nearby Royal Hobart golf course.
Sure to attract plenty of media attention once open, 7 Mile Beach is likely to prove an important addition to Tasmanian golf and popular with those heading to Barnbougle Dunes in the state's north.
