With a foreword by Greg Norman, PLANET GOLF was written to be the Definitive Reference to Great Golf Courses outside the United States of America. This magnificent book features reviews of more than 130 of the finest golfing layouts in existence.
Covering both history and design, Darius Oliver's reviews are accompanied by the images of world renowned photographer David Scaletti, and include comments from leading course designers such as Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Pete Dye, Tom Fazio, Gary Player, Robert Trent Jones, Tom Doak, Tom Weiskopf, Kyle Phillips and Robert von Hagge among others.
Sure to generate much clubhouse discussion, there is also a comprehensive rankings section that details the best, hardest and most dramatic golf courses and golf holes on the planet.
Featuring courses from more than 20 countries, from the famous links of Scotland and Ireland to the leading Heathland and Sandbelt classics of England and Australia, and from the hidden gems of France, New Zealand and Japan through to the best within the rest of Europe, Africa, North and Central America, Australasia and Asia, Planet Golf truly is the definitive reference to the greatest golf courses available outside the United States.
PLANET GOLF is the finest, and most comprehensive, directory on golf courses I've ever seen.
Planet Golf is a great book for anyone interested in the game of golf and the places it is played. It is full of stunning photos and has some excellent and honest commentary from Darius Oliver. I know Darius well and the joy he gets out of great architecture is obvious when you talk to him. This book lets you in on this joy as well as providing some original views on the subject. It sits on my coffee table and I look at it often.
