Johan Benestam

Profile

Johan Benestam is a Swedish golf course designer whose work we were first introduced to at the charming Royal Drottningholm Golf Club in Stockholm.

Benestram was actually a greenkeeper at Royal Drottningholm prior to pursuing a career in golf course architecture via turf and design courses at the Swedish University of Agriculture and The Edinburgh College of Art, as well as a scholarship to study design in the USA sponsored by The Toro Company and Robert Trent Jones Jr.

Benestam started his design business in 2005 and has worked extensively in Sweden in particular. The restoration of Royal Drottningholm was completed successfully in 2012.
