One of the founders and the driving force behind the excellent The Addington Golf Club near London, J.F. Abercromby was an accomplished amateur golfer who turned his hand to design with the creation of a series of fine courses around his home city. Known for his sporty routings and fun, unconventional holes, Abercromby’s best work was at The Addington where he remained until his death in 1935.
