Eric Bergstol is the founder and course architect for the ambitious Bayonne Golf Club project that overlooks Manhattan's famous skyline. It's hard to know what to make of his design ability based on that one project, partly because the shaping is so over the top here and partly because the site had no underlying golf quality at all. Everything at Bayonne is man-made so Bergstol gets credit for the good points and tends to escape too much criticism for the goofy areas because of the severe site restrictions.
