Arthur Vernon Macan

A.V. Macan was an accomplished amateur golfer, who won the British Columbia Amateur Championship and Pacific Northwest Association Amateur Championships in 1913 and was prolific in the general area as a golf course designer.

Among his notable designs are Royal Colwood, Marine Drive and Shaughnessy in Canada and the excellent California Golf Club of San Francisco south of the border. He was also involved in the renovation or redesign of courses like the Vancouver Golf Club, Capilano Golf Club and the Seattle Golf Club and Tacoma Country Club's in Washington state.
