One of the better mountain courses in South Korea, Hwa Sun Country Club isn’t a giant of world golf by any stretch, but it does feature some genuinely good holes including a solid long par three across a dam and valley into an attractive built-up target. The mounding on the back nine’s first par three, on the other hand, is quite extraordinary – the hole dogged by ugly cone shaped mounds with crater tops.

Hwa Sun is a decent club with what, for South Korea, is a good golf course.
