Golf Digest's 2007 ranking of America's 100 Greatest golf courses sees familiar faces settled near the top of the list, but much change through the bottom half. While the selection of Pine Valley as the number 1 course will surprise few in the business, the 51st placing is sure to raise a few eyebrows. Rich Harvest Links is the private course of Jerry Rich, who built the course himself despite understanding little about golf course design. This lack of knowledge shows and, quality turf and great amenities aside, it is hard to justify the judging panels position here. Courses like Hawks Ridge and Tullymore are also fortunate to make the grade.
